Strategic Relocation for Faster Delivery and Lower shipping Costs

Along with 247 already handling their Canadian logistics, Alcami began their U.S. fulfillment journey with a 3PL based in Alabama. While this setup worked in the early stages, it became clear that as Alcami’s customer base grew, the geographic distribution of their orders shifted heavily to the West Coast. Shipping from the Southeast to California, Washington, and other western states drove up delivery times and significantly increased parcel costs — eating into margins and impacting customer experience.

After a detailed lane analysis, 247 Fulfillment transitioned Alcami’s inventory to our Salt Lake City, Utah facility. By moving inventory closer to their largest customer clusters, we dramatically shortened the average distance each package traveled.
